Departing from Porto, you will embark on a journey to the heart of the Douro Valley. Our air-conditioned vehicle will make sure you have a safe and comfortable ride to your destination.

After arriving at the High Douro Wine Region, you will pass by many photo worthy spots in the area, where you will be able to see for yourself the beautiful sites of the mighty Douro and all the surrounding vineyards. Afterwards, you will set course for the first winery visit of the day.

In this first winery you will learn all about the ancient methods that have been used by many generations in order to craft the world renowned Port wine, the golden nectar exclusive to this area. After visiting the vineyards and learning all about the unique factors that enable the production of Port wine, such as the harsh weather conditions and the schist terroir, you will participate in an exquisite Port wines tasting. Afterwards you will visit a local restaurant in order to taste a traditional lunch, where you will experience the rich flavors of the Douro.

After lunch, your private tour guide will take you to the heart of Pinhão, an historic village in the Douro Valley, from where you will embark on a 50 minute Cruise along the Douro river. This scenic voyage on the Douro’s calm waters will provide some of the best views you’ll see on this tour, since you will experience the Douro Valley from an entirely new perspective, so make sure to take loads of photographs.

Before heading back to Porto, you will make one final stop in a small local winery in the Douro Valley, where you will once again get familiar with the history of this UNESCO world heritage site. This final visit culminates in yet another tasting of local products, such as table wines, almonds, honey and olive oil.
